About me:
I’m from Elgin, IL and photography has been a passion of mine since I was young, always holding a camera (disposables were my fav!) and capturing moments that were unique and meaningful to me. In high school, photojournalism was on my short list of professions I wanted to pursue and took 3 photography classes during my sophomore, junior and senior years.
With my love for photography, I chose Art Education as a way to explore my many visual arts interests and to honor my love for sharing skills and collaborating with my community. After teaching in Chicago Public Schools for 4 years, I had the opportunity to pursue professional photography and run a wedding photography company with my husband, Anthony. I TOOK THAT LEAP and have been doing professional photography for 7 years and counting!
Since becoming a mother, family and motherhood have become the biggest passions of interest for me. In my photography, I aim to capture real, authentic moments of family life and honor/celebrate amazing mommas everywhere!
What you can expect in a session with me:
When I’m capturing moments with families/mommas, I like to let your authentic self shine through! I let kiddos lead parts of the session, to dance, roam, tell stories and focus in on connection with the whole family.
I like to create an atmosphere of comfort, celebration, intimacy and connection. I will guide you during your session but love when my prompts lead to real, natural moments of you and your family interacting. I’ll be your support in the planning process, during the session and collaborate until the final delivery of your photos.
Overall, I’m interested in capturing raw, intimate, and meaningful moments of you and your family. I love the moody, expressive nature of the art that I capture and don’t mind the unexpected. I’m fond of sun, wind and cloudy days! I like to embrace nature’s wild and wonderful moments during outdoor sessions as well.
